Apotheosis is the enabling of a person, group of people, or location to have god-like power or the appearance of such power.

It appears that I have evolved myself to be able to do magic or wizardry or things that most people do not appear to be able to do.

It also appears that there are 'watchers' in the world whose job it is to keep an eye on such people to document and insure that their 'power' is not used in a way that they do not approve of. These watchers are aware that there are building blocks upon which power is demonstrated in a step-by-step process to insure that the potential apotheosi truly understands the full ramifications of their gradually increasing abilities.
